ABOUT AROHEE

It dates back to 15th Auguest, 1987. With every Indian reveling in pompous celebrations of our Independence Day, an obscure housing estate at Sahebpara Railway Colony in Bandel, Hooghly was not to have experienced any act of difference unless “ AROHEE “ came into being on very day on a little corridor in an apartment.
That was our beginning, the beginning of a journey that had to specific objective of accomplish at the onset. Only the passion of a group of few like minded contemporary youth gave birth to “ AROHEE” an abode of culture in and around Bandel-Hooghly as well as in certain other parts of West Bengal had inspired us and set aground ready for
“AROHEE” to take off. Subsequently, many extra ordinary talents have joined and enriched us. Great sacrifices of many benevolent souls have obliged and glorified us
“AROHEE” since birth, has contained itself basically in the one act play culture. Alongside,it has also successfully organized a number of street-dramas, seminers,workshops,children’s theatre, festivals etc.The success story of ‘AROHEE’ so far goes : One-act play 17, Street Drama 7, Children’s Play 3.
“AROHEE’ treads on any stage set anywhere in India, any time and on any occasion regardless of whether it is in Kolkata or in an obscure and remote village.
D.L Roy’s CHANDRAGUPTA is the maiden full-length drama presented by the “AROHEE”.

Arohee invited in the SOHAN Natyamela at BIJAN MONCHA to perform HALUD RANGHER T SHIRT. The drama was highly appreciated by spectator, specially by journalist Satya Bhaduri ,& Anish Ghosh of SOHAN. We meet journalist of Kalantar Patrika.

We move with our team of HALUD RANGHER T SHIRT towords NONA THEATRE , KAKDEEP. It was a one act drama competition. We stay there at night. Next day morning we return through a bus started at 3.30am.

Mollar theatre organization of Mahishadal,Purba Medinapur, invited us for HALUD RANGHER T SHIRT at their theatre festival for this year. Every one had enjoyed with our performance.

Our children theatre production “JATRA” will be performed at the floor of local SRINIKETAN BHAVAN at the eve of Seminar of Ganatrantic Lekhok Silpi Sangha at 1pm. 15 children will be participated. It is our 3rd no of shows in a row.
In the evening Arohee`s one act production “Jamunadasir Gharkanna” will be staged at Uttarpara.

Arohee has performed it`s median full length drama D.L.Roy`s CHANDRAGUPTA at RANGAPEET UTSAV ,Santipore, Nadia.We started from Bandel by vehicle and reached Santipore while all theatre activist of Rangapeet waited to welcome us with chandan & flower. The utsav premises was decorated decently.Arohee is grateful to Rangapeet to allow us to stage D.L.Roy`s drama at Nadia District which is the home District of that great dramatist.

We proceed for Bongoingoin , Assam by Saraighat Express to perform HALUD RANGHER T SHIRT at All India Drama competition organized by Friends Club at Railway Institute, New Bongoingoin. We got opportunity to stage with full of audience at 9 pm on 23rd. It is a great experience to perform multilingual drama competition ever our life. The organizer has arranged all shorts of cooperation in respect of food & lodging , reception, transportation etc. we returned on 25th.
